The economy is primarily driven by farming crops, which can be sold with /sellall, or by visiting one of two NPCs: Jessica Barlow the Farming Supplier or Johnny Warner the Traveling Merchant. Crops grow at an increased rate compared to vanilla. Sugar cane and cacti are the two crops that cannot be sold to prevent automation driving the economy.
Unique to HarvestMC: Reborn is the daily shop system, in which various NPCs will pay more or less for each item every Minecraft day. At 8:00 AM in the spawn world, prices will randomly increase or decrease with the tendency to remain around its base value:

Each in-game day at 8:00 a.m. the shops refresh and the prices are dynamically changed. Each item listed in the main shops in /shop
will be given a new price. The new price is based upon the difference from the base price, if the previous day price is higher than the base price, the chance is lower for it to increase. Inversely, if the previous price is lower than the base price, the item has a higher chance of increasing in sale value.
You can see a running five (5) day total of an items price history with the command /pricehistory <item> [alias: /ph]
(ex: /ph nether wart
would display a five-day price history for nether wart)
Villager trade shops, such as the Fishermonger, Monster Hunter and Traveling Merchant prices are not included in this system, and are much more variable in their pricing structure.
Player chest shops become available at rank Novice, and they can be built anywhere in the world. One benefit of having player chest shops is to allow users to bet on the daily prices, stocking up on lots of crops until they think the price is just right to sell for a profit. In return, their customers may get a higher sell price than the current day’s price or possibly even the base price.
Putting items for sale on the auction house becomes available at rank Trader, and more slots are earned at rank Monarch. This is particularly useful for high-ticket items like the various tools and trinkets.
Upgradeable hoppers are able to go above and beyond vanilla hoppers. They can be used to collect a larger amount of items in a 25 x 25 block area and transport them hundreds of blocks away.

Upgradeable spawners are an extension of vanilla spawners. Once upgraded they can spawn larger amounts of mobs at faster rates. The main page can be seen (here).
